Preparing Your Community Project Proposals

You can complete online and print.

Briefly describe your community project.
List how it will improve your area/community.
Examples are:
• improving health
• reducing/eliminating anti social behaviour
• providing 'safer streets'
• improving local economy
• improving education
• environmental improvements
• housing issues
• transport
Who will benefit from your project? Provide specifics e.g.
• children
• young people
• elderly
• disabled
• homeless
• lone parents
• unemployed

List ethnic groups if possible.
• White
• Black/Black British
• Mixed Race
• Chinese
• Asian/Asian British
• Other Ethnic Group

Does anyone in your community share your enthusiasm?

• Canvass local opinion
• Contact your local Councillor

 

What is the feedback?
Do people generally support your idea/proposal?
If yes, can you develop shared values and common objectives?
If no, what are the problems/obstacles?

What resources do you need?

(1) People
(2) Money
(3) Buildings and Equipment
(4) Other

 

Do you have these resources?
If no, how do you plan getting what you need?
Who will manage your project and ensure its success?

Have you approached your local Council for advice on the problem and your proposal?

If so, what was their response?

 

In the light of the above, is your idea/proposal…

(1) practical and realistic?
(2) Does it have the support and enthusiasm of the community?
(3) If it is a good idea, why hasn't it been done before?

 

   

If you feel positive and encouraged by your canvassing of local opinion you may want to prepare a proposal.
